The 2 winners of the GCs shall be announced on or before November 1, 2008.
Obviously, I'm joining this online contest because there's nothing to lose except for a couple of keystroke times!
Now here's my entry to the contest:
- So why's pizza my favorite comfort food? I ♥love♥ pizza to the point that it can be my breakfast, lunch, and dinner - even for weeks! I'm not kidding! I remember my experiences way back in college that in every celebration, the simplest but fabulous (and fastest) way of celebrating birthdays or gimmicks was to eat pizzas on dining places or just a simple phone call away for delivery! Also, it's a geek food and I'm a geek!
- Favorites? I really don't have favorites because I like every kind of pizza, may it be a veggie or a meaty one. I guess, I would want to have a pizza that has 4 different flavors on it! Well, if I would be given a CPK GC, maybe I'll try to get a taste of all of the pizzas offered in their menu!
Okay, that's it! It's as simple as that so participate now and blog about it too - while the PinoyCravings Win California Pizza Kitchen Gift Certificates contest's still hot!
Quoted from the invitation:
"Forrest Gump, to be portrayed by Steve Weber, will be visiting the Bubba Gump restaurants in the Philippines very soon. Steve Weber is an actor hired by Bubba Gump, with the permission of Paramount Pictures, to play Forrest Gump and promote the Bubba Gump restaurants worldwide. This event is to celebrate two important occasions - the first anniversary of our TriNoma branch and the launching of Bubba Gump's new menu in the Philippines."
The food was superb! My girlfriend and I enjoyed the event especially on the very last thing they had served to us - That Chocolate Thing!
Overall, it was really a one-of-a-kind of dining experience - great food and fun! Thanks to Ms. Raquel for the invitation :)

After the usual Sunday mass at Ever Commonwealth, we decided to have lunch at the Mongkok in Royale Place just beside the mall. Although there was nothing new about the food offered in their menu, there was just some thing that made us quite disappointed about their service - the waiters were not attentive enough!
I don't know if the place was really crowded (or the waiters were just undermanned) but imagine 4 tables of customer groups - groups of 2's, group of 4, and we're a group of 6. Obviously, we had more orders as compared to the other tables which should then take a longer time to process. However, we ordered food that were just prepared instantly because it's already cooking in a "cooking box" along with the siomais, and the like.
Okay, now why were the waiters not attentive enough? I really don't know what's bothering them but it took us 5 times to follow-up the request for just 6 glasses of water. If I remember correctly, those glasses only arrived when we were more than halfway or almost finished with our meal. The bottomless iced teas were not even refilled!
Well, I'm not saying that this one's a big deal but it can be irritating at some instances. Right?
What do you think?
It has been months already since my last post here so I guess it's time to dedicate this blog solely for the love of food, drinks, dining places - name it!
Stay tuned folks!
While eating a Guiltless Fudgee Barr, 50% less fat, reduced sugar, & low cholesterol, I stumbled upon an article about Tips to Optimize Brain Functioning on Philippine Star.
As expected, I headed right away to the tips about food:
1. Avoid a heavy breakfast. (Because they became brain barriers? What?!)
2. All meals during the day should not be big meals to avoid sluggishness. (Oh. So does that mean it's okay to have big midnight meals?)
3. When you feel hungry, eat small amounts of lean meat, poached or boiled egg. (Okay)
4. Trim down your food consumption during the day by eating mostly fresh fruits and vegetables and fruit juices. (Let's go to Lutong Bahay's Fruit Shakes!)
5. Eat fatty fish. (Okay, this might be a little bit hard to achieve because not all dining places serve this kind of meat)
6. Green tea. (Yey! And that's why I like this one...despite the fact that this drink reminds me of something or someone. Haha!)
7. A small glass of red wine with evening meals can help protect the brain. (I need protection! Fast!)
8. Avoid binge drinking. (Sure..)
9. Eat lecithin granules. (What?)
10. Decrease your daily sugar consumption. Insulin sensitivity may lead to inefficient supply of energy to the brain. (What? This one sounds ironic to the previous items!)
11. Take multivitamin and antioxidant supplements.
12. Ginkgo biloba also improves brain circulation and memory. (What's that again?)
13. Panax ginseng during the day works as a tonic drink and is said to help boost mental activity. (Uhh..)
14. Eat carbohydrates at night. (Woot! *slaps a high five*)
15. Drink hot milk with honey or banana at night. (Is this the same as a banana shake?)
16. Exercise daily. (Okay, okay! I'll work!)
17. The best time to drink coffee is on an empty stomach with a little or no sugar. Drinking coffee in moderation helps boost brain function and elevates the mood. (Oh, no wonder...)
18. Cocoa (chocolate) has a potent antioxidant and has a protective effect on your brain. (Chocolates rock! Choco Mucho!)
19. Blueberries have the highest antioxidant value and so they are considered to be one of the best brain foods. (So if the blueberry's mixed with vodka and milk, does it have the same effect?)
20. Sleep at least six to eight hours a day. (Uh-oh, what time is it?)
How about peanuts?
But actually, that didn't matter anymore for we were able to save more than what we had expected that day. *grins*
